Non violent online Games

I am looking for online Games, whether educational or adventures (search for treasures...) etc., anything (but no "violence/Killing/Shooting" type). I have a 9 year old and he would love to play some games online with his cousin (same age) leaving abroad. I am not into games at all myself, but I have the idea that now you can create like a private group in free websites where you can play with other players included in the same group. Can someone give me some ideas, links, advice?? I am completely lost at this one.

Minecraft is the big one.

Stardew Valley and Starbound do small multiplayer.

What do you have to play on? PC, Playstation4, XboxOne, Switch?

There are plenty of co-op shoot-mans games, rather than player-vs-player, if that's a useful compromise? Many - probably most - of them can also be played in "headshot your friends then teabag them" modes though.

Terraria is the other one I was trying to think of.

I was going to suggest Minecraft in creative mode. If you (or cousin's parents) set-up a private server, there'll be no issue with violence or people destroying their creations etc.

We do have only the family computer, I haven't bought any Gaming software either. I just had the idea of using free websites available for kids and connect both of them. I have a friend on the same situation, her kid plays with other friends but it's a shooting game. My initial idea was that the two cousins could stretch family bonds through play ( because my sister lives abroad). I have no clue of games, but I will have a look at whatever suggestions people list here.

Minecraft. You can play in peaceful. ( not creative mode the other one but set the level to peaceful) I think you can lock the mode as well.

You still have to collect all your resources, kill animals for resources, still die if you fall off something high or try to swimmin lava, but don't encounter the spiders or skeletons or zombies or creepers.

Minecraft is paid for.

You can make your own server to play together.
