Hi, any views on Eaton Grange Yr 9-11. Considering sending my son there. School seems lovely but saw a very negative post on Mumsnet in 2018 about bullying being swept under the carpet and policy involved re cyber bullying - is the post valid or not and what is the current situation?
How strong are they at optimising academic results at GCSE?

I'm not really answering your question but my daughter has been at Holme Grange School since nursery and is now in Y6. We looked around at other school options for Y7 but have decided to stay at HG (Eaton Grange). We have not heard of or experienced any of the issues raised in the other post however our child is younger than the age range you mention.

Overall I think the school is good and the head teacher has a definite positive influence and is moving the school forward. She is a real driving force with lots of ideas. There is a lot of investment going on and the new Eaton Grange buildings are great.

Having viewed other schools I do think that HG is more progressive and give the children many opportunities.

In many ways it is not the same school we initially joined; gaining a school farm, new theatre, music rooms, new dining room, additional older year groups and their buildings; but in other ways the culture of the school, and its appeal for us, is still the same.

We chose the school for Nursery on gut instinct and feel for what would suit our child, we have decided to stay on to Eaton Grange, having visited a number of alternatives, for the same reasons.

Holme Grange has just won the 2019 ISA National Senior School Award for Academic Excellence and Innovation.
