What date do the schools go back (England)?

Just wondering if I can sneak in a day out without the hordes?
DS1 starts Tuesday 4th September (Surrey)

Think most schools are the same for the September term. Some might begin 3rd September but most schools will be doing INSET that day.

Ds1 goes back on 4th, ds2 goes back on 5th

4th here too (brum)

dd1's school is having two inset days and she doesn't go back till 5th!

But I think every other school round here goes back on 4th.

3rd here for my ds. Same for me but we got a weeks inset! Imagine that Monday might be a little quieter.

3rd inset day and 4th school day.

DS2 and DS3 Tuesday 4th September, DS1 Wednesday 5th.

My school in Camden: 3rd and 4th are INSET, 5th is for Year 7 only and Years 8-11 and 13 are on Thursday 6th Sept.

most here (nr cambridge) seem to be Wed 5th Sep, at ours reception starts Thu 6th.
