Higher level teaching assistant- what is this?

I’ve had an email from someone at school introducing herself as a higher level teaching assistant. I know what a TA is, does the higher level bit refer to her qualifications, or something else?

Thanks

It's her qualifications. It also means that she is able to take a class on her own for a short time. So she could take the class if the teacher called in sick or she could do regular ppa cover.
