Just been to ds's first parents evening at the end of his second week, and I have come home glowing.he has scored very highly in his baseline assessments,is mature, happy ,has lots of friends, and is basically brilliant! the headmistress stopped us on the way out to comment on what a sweetie(her words) ds is,and to say how well he is doing.
I am ssoooo happy proud! Just wanted to share!

What are baseline assessments? DS1 is also in reception, but we've had no feedback like that.

Hulababy · 24/09/2004 09:13

Fab nes. Well done to you and your DS

NomDePlume · 24/09/2004 09:29

. Congrats to your DS. It's sooooo nice to hear things like that.

Marina · 24/09/2004 10:06

Terrific news, Alexsmum, just what you need to hear.
Zebra, schools vary in how much specific feedback they give parents about baseline assessments in Reception, but they do happen to every child so that any previous unidentified SEN issues can be addressed.
They were very vague about them at our school, just reassuring us that ds was meeting all and exceeding some criteria. That was all we needed to hear, but I'd have expected specifics if there were any areas of concern. Ours were not done until after Autumn half-term btw.

BETTYBIMBO · 24/09/2004 10:08

Congrats :-) .... it just shows what a loved and happy child you have and you are rewarded with the evidence for all to see :-) x

WedgiesMum · 24/09/2004 20:39
