Rokeby vs Shrewsbury House prep

Hi,

We’ve recently been looking for school for our DS and we live in Kingston/Surbiton area. Of the few schools we visited both Rokeby and Shrewsbury House came across really well and we struggle to decide which one is preferable at the moment. With Shrewsbury DS will need to start from the pre-prep in Esher which is manageable as it’s on my way to work. Both appears to be academically strong, Shrewsbury has great facility and good sports/music program, while Rokeby offers some interesting courses. I would really appreciate any fresh experience of either school. Or opinion of why you like one over the other. Many thanks!

I am in the exact same boat. Any help is appreciated

I visited both schools at their open days and on private tours too. I personally liked Shrewsbury House more as the facilities were amazing, the school is just the right size, neither too big nor too small, sport every day, French every day (if I’m not mistaken, French is taught by the native speaker unlike in Rokeby). Amazing history class with lots of artifacts, all walls are covered with kids art.
Rokeby didn’t impress me with anything, TBH. Teachers didn’t look passionate either while I spoke to them.
