Current/recent experience with the Beacon, Amersham

Currently looking at this school as a prep option and wondering if any current or recent experience from the Beacon parents esp.:

• How selective is it for admission?
• Read some past comments about anti-grammar attitude there but seems still plenty of students left for Dr. C last year. what is it like if a student is going down the 11+ path AND what is it like with those who stay for another two years (cohort of students past 11+, academic standard etc.)

Admission - depends which year you want to enter at. If you want to enter at Year 3 or Year 7 there are tests.
Last year 50% of the Year 6 boys left for grammar schools. Check out the leaver destinations page on the website to see where boys go next. Large number went to Berko last year. Review on the Good Schools Guide is very detailed and helpful about what the Head wants for the future.
