Both of us are working professionals. What are our after school club options to keep our DD? I realize that Apple Pips is only available from year 1. How do professional parents manage until 5:30 pm?

Mostly nannies.
I have also seen quite a few girls being picked up by Playdays afterschool club. It is five minutes walk up the hill, they provide food and are open till 6 pm.
A few years ago Apple pips run only till 5 pm, so might not be an option still if you need later pick up.

Au pairs is another option. Apple Pips now runs until 530pm but doesn't run on Fridays. Something to bear in mind.
