Manchester Consortium Schools 19/20

I thought I'd start a thread for NW parents considering sitting their DCs for the exams in Jan 2020.

I can't find a webpage that summarises the system but I believe the following independents are in the consortium:

Bolton Girls/Boys
St Bedes
Bury Grammar
Withington Girls
Manchester High
Manchester Grammar
Cheadle Hulme Grammar
Stockport Grammar

(Any other schools?)

We've checked out a few of the boys' schools when DS was in year 5. He's just been through the Trafford 11+ exams so waiting for those results before submitting applications.

Are any of the exam/interview dates out yet?

Oldham Hulme grammar seems to be a good school, not sure about dates yet

Alty Boys results are out today. Good luck to all your DSs. The standardised score is 334 this year. Don't know whether it changes each year.

Manchester High's exam date has been published

Trafford grammar school results are now out.

We are out of area so will struggle with highest mark at 360. From the info online, out of area offers are roughly above:

AGSB - 390
Urmston - 385
Sale - 380
Stretford - ?
Loreto - ?
St Ambrose- ?

Our next hope are the Independent schools

Loreto and St Ambrose have massive catchment areas - provided you're Catholic?
