My son has just started reception class. His teacher is quite miserable . She talks quite negativity about him . I’m not sure what to do . I mean if adults feels negative it’s can cause a negative effect on the children . I’m not sure what to do .

How does she talk about him negatively? What does she say? Is it her tone as well as what she's saying?

It’s the expression on her face and she also says ah he’s been terrible today . I did tell her that if he was unsettled they can called she didn’t bother , just everything’s negative . Like the other day ah he’s been calling for you all day etc . She didn’t even greet him in the class and say hello , she didn’t even say goodbye to him today .

I would check with the school. What are their procedures regarding Reception settling in?

Did he attend pre-school and being away from you for a couple of hours? How does he talk about school and behave at drop off?

Is she really saying he has been terrible or that his behaviour was terrible? You need to follow up with asking for specific examples. Maybe speak to TA if you find the teacher too busy or dismissive. You won't get called just because he is misbehaving or upset, he is there for the full session unless unwell. It is early days for all so it may take time to settle into the flow of things.
