Hi @user1469259876 just bumping this for you so hopefully some Mumsnetters will be along soon with some helpful ideas. We've also moved it over to the Education section. Flowers

Hi user.... I have recently waved my son off to university and I can remember his first day at school very clearly as he too hated going, it is the worst feeling in the world walking away and seeing their sad eyes. The class teachers gave me the usual..." he loves t when he's here" etc
But I know he didn't. The only changes I made was to ask him about all the good things he had done everyday, when he tried to focus on the negative aspects and oh boy did I hear them all I just acknowledged his feelings and asked him what he did that he liked. Within every classroom there are children that your child will not gel with or have different values but ultimately he will find his 'tribe' my son did, it took until high school but he's got there and now he's a happy go lucky fella who rarely talks about the bad things that have happened but will always find the good. My husband used to say..."this too shall pass" I won't tell you what I used to think in my head when he said it but he was right, with careful management it will pass.

Also, there will be mums on the playground telling you how great their kids are and how they can't wait to go in to school but in my experience over the 13 years of compulsory education the majority have a wobble at some time.
My parting words were always, "I can't wait to see you at home time so you can tell me about all your adventures"
