Has anyone or their DC done Maths A level at home (in a year in our case) and if so, can you recommend resources (online tuition etc)?

my nephew did this course here in one year. it included mock exams and you can choose whether to have the resources mailed to you or to study completely online

Thanks sleepismysuperpower1 Do you know how many hours a week your nephew spent on it approx?

CGP books are good. The Khan Academy videos are useful as they explain things really clearly.

If you consider most students do about 7 or 8 hours a week over two years, for each A level, that should give some rough idea.

It depends on what level she or he is at now, what grade they want and how quickly they learn.

You also need to find what exam board they will be sitting, as content can vary slightly. You need to sort out an exam centre sooner rather than later as not all schools or colleges will take external candidates.

I think its the type of course where you can work at your own pace, but he did all 3 of his a levels online so i think spent around 2/2.5 hours a day on each subject? hopefully thats correct!

@kerburdem71 did you get anywhere with this.
My DC also needs Alevel maths. He has Alevel physics chemistry and politics already but needs maths. He could do another foundation yr at Uni but it’s almost 9k and I said I’d rather pay for him to do an Alevel than pay for that yr at Uni!

I came on here to look for advice on doing Alevels online and found your post.. and was pleased it wasn’t a zombie thread!!

Sorry Poppiesway1 I only just came back to this thread today! I will PM you in case it's fallen off your watch list.
