How to find a tutor for maths gcse

Just that really
Maths is most definitely not my forte and dd2 is going into year 11 in September
She does foundation maths and failed her mocks, she is very upset as she has good to excellent passes in all her other subjects and as she's uncertain what she wants to career wise she knows a maths pass will be relatively important
I've never used a tutor before and am looking for advice how to find one, what to ask/respect
TIA

have a look on tutorful, which is where i found my dd's maths tutor. you can see how many repeat students the tutors have, and their reviews. the tutors have all been checked out by tutorful also x

Thank you sleepismysuperpower I've just had a look and for my area there are only two options for maths, one of which has 70+ hours teaching and 4 repeat students, the other has 100+ hours and 27 repeats....

What does " repeat students" mean @sleepismysuperpower?

It’s one of those things that’s quite based on word of mouth. Might be worth asking the school? I’m an English teacher and have picked up my tutees from me being recommended by old tutees parents. If you’re in Essex/East London I might be able to recommend someone.

it means how many students have had more than one lesson with the tutor because they enjoyed/found the 1st session with the tutor useful x

I found a tutor here: www.firsttutors.com/

both of the tutors that came up for you sound good then @Stilllivinginazoo, because they have repeat students and lots of hours teaching. I would then be looking at their pricing per hour as the deciding factor and schedule one session with them so i could see if my dc liked them x
