Good secondary comps in zone 5 or 6 London?

We are very happy with our local SE London zone 5 primary but i am a worry wart about secondary (in a few years).

We are not remotely in the catchment for a decent secondary. I'd loathe to move again (because im lazy) but am not tied locally in terms of family or community. Both of us work in London full time.

My question is, what are the good non-selective comps in a zone 5/6 ish london area, so i could research? We need both boys and girls sch or coed.

There are loads, particularly in the boroughs of Bromley, Sutton and Kingston. Most fab schools are in outer London, actually. Would you prefer single sex or coed? Any particular subject strengths? Do you want to try for grammars too or just go straight for a good comp?

In terms of academic performance and intake and all manner of other stats, this website has all the info:

Hayes School, Langley Park Boys & Girls, Eden Park, Bullers Wood Girls and the new Bullers Boys in Chislehurst, Darrick Wood in Orpington. As you can tell I am only familiar with those in Bromley but it has many great schools.

Yes to all that PettsWood said above.
If you move pick the school first & make sure your house is very close by (under half a mile to be on the safe side)

Bromley produces a booklet in which they say from how far the pupils were admitted on distance.
I’d also say that somewhere like Langley Park Girls can definitely be called ‘a great comp’ but eg Darrick Wood is as average academically as they get and Langley Park Boys has really declined in the last 3 years as far as progress goes and for last year they were one of the worst in the borough on that measure.

Langley girls has a new head (started last year) it will be interesting to see how the results go. Personally I would pick Hayes over the others.
