Sphero for 9 year old boy...

My son has asked for a sphero... at around £45 are these toys any good? If so what do they actually do and which are best ones??

My boys each have one. They're great and have provided hours of fun. They both got them at around that age and have been very sensible with them.

Thank you for your reply - what do they actually do?? And how long do you think they will be in favour for?? Worried it’s a five minute wander!!
