Any Caldicott Parents?

Morning all

Any Caldicott parents here do the daily school run from Beaconsfield? Seems quite an easy drive but there a lot of traffic? I've got two boys one school year apart so there would probably be different pick up times to consider too.

We're in the final stages of our decision to buy either in Ascot or Beaconsfield. There are really good reasons for both so it's really coming down to school choice for me. There's more choice near the Ascot property. If Beacs though, we'd send the boys to Caldicott. I just wonder if it's as doable as it looks.

A good friend of mine did it (although hers is now going into year 8, so weekly boarded). Said it took around 20 minutes.

However, we have a big new development being built between built and Seer Green, which is causing a lot of disruption. If the full extent of it is built it will bring a lot more traffic to the area, especially around the M40 roundabout. Planning hasn’t been approved yet, so it really depends on how old your children are. They all weekly board at Caldicott from year 7.

Beaconsfield to Caldicott will be a doddle, no more than 20mins.
Ascot to Caldicott is about 35mins without traffic. In traffic I would allow for at least 45mins.

Just out of interest, why did you choose Caldicott?
Have you looked in to other schools?
Papplewick (Ascot) and SJB (Windsor) spring to mind.

Yes they're down for Papplewick already for Sept 21 entry and we recently visited SJB and will likely register them there too and decide nearer the time. Finally will also be viewing Lambrook though really prefer all boys for prep.

I wouldn't do Caldicott from Ascot. My issue is that I'd love to buy in Beacs but for what we want, Caldicott is the only option really. Davenies not really what we're looking for.

Also depends on which side of Beaconsfield you are too - there is always the option of taking the back roads across to Caldicott from the Wooburn side (Broad Lane, Wooburn Common, around the back of the Beeches etc) to avoid the traffic coming out on to the main roundabout by the M40.
