Hoping that the combined brain power of Mumsnet can give me some much needed advice, please. How can I convert a French CAPES qualification into a PGCE or QTS qualification?

Look at the assessment only route to QTS?

Check here - I was able to convert my Scottish qualification to get QTS without having to do anything else, I think similar exists for other EU/EEA countries - although it can take a few months to get a response back if you qualified outside the UK.

I would also look into the assessment only route for QTS.

If that's not an option then you could explore doing a PGCE to get the QTS but with some credit transfer if it's allowed by the university.
