I have read that Ludgrove students have limited contact with there parents. Is this true or false?

I am considering Ludgrove, Cothill and Horris Hill.

Try Summer Fields in Oxford, they have listened to parents and allow boarders to either leave/stay on weekends in addition to the day option.
Boarders can also (unofficially) pop out with parents on Wed for a meal on the high street which is a 2mins walk from school.

Just like the 3 schools you mentioned, Summer Fields also sends their kids to the top schools in droves but are also not afraid to share a breakdown of school destinations by each year on their website. I found that this is sometimes hard to find or that some schools average out the numbers in order to disguise years why the cohort might appear to have been weaker.

My boy has been very successful in his sport, drama, music and academically. Secured the school of his choice and made lots of friends on the way.

There's always going to be a counter view but this of course is only my opinion and experience which I have duly shared.

I'm a Horris Hill mum and my son is a weekly boarder. I speak to him every evening and also can take him out for supper if I'm in the area. I think you'll find the schools say they're full boarding, but when you dig deeper, they're much more flexible.
All the schools that you're mentioning are wonderful, so just go off your got feel and you'll make the right choice! Good Luck

I don't know about Ludgrove but the schools my children have been to would limit contact quite strictly during the first week to help them settle in, but then allow regular contact albeit not during teaching hours, so only after prep has finished.
Strictly no mobile phones allowed but access to computers for skyping, and writing good old fashioned letters is encouraged.. Usually allowed out for tea/supper midweek and certainly on Sunday lunch/ afternoons if they are in for the weekend. But parents are always allowed to come into school to watch matches and all kinds of performances after the first week. I know some parents of full boarders who see their full boarding dc more often than many parents of day pupils see theirs. Alternatively, Horris Hill has now transition flexi boarding which would allow for lots of contact!

You can call everyday during set times. Also your son if really keen to speak to you, he can call after supper.

You can visit every Wednesday for games and on Saturdays for non exeat weekends.

I wouldn’t describe it as limited only in the first week to help them settle.
