We are looking at a house in Iwerne Minster and wanted to get opinions from local families about Clayesmore. Firstly, are there lots of a families in Iwerne Minster and secondly, where do the majority educate their children? Do they go Clayesmore or do they go further afield to, say, Sandroyd or do they go to the nearest primary? Just getting a feel for local people really as our preference is a prep but we’d also like for our children to have friends in the village. We’ve also seen a house near Sandroyd but as I understand it, the intake is from a much wider radius (and lots of boarders) so possibly less of a local feel? Any insights would be very helpful. Thank you.

There are some great Prep Schools in the area, good luck with your search. I would suggest that all of these Prep Schools have a significant number of local children whether they are boarding or not. It is rare now for parents at Prep School to send their children to schools that are a significant distance away. Parents tend to want to regularly be at sports fixtures and concerts etc, so normally choose Prep Schools local to them.
