I wanted to post here on Mumsnet our review of Cleve House School (Wells Road, Bristol), in the hope that it will be useful for other parents/carers. This school is absolutely wonderful and at the heart of it all is the Headmaster, he genuinely cares about the children and knows each and every one of them, which is a rarity. We cannot thank Cleve enough for that they've done for our son, he's only been with them for 10 months and his confidence and learning have grown immeasurable amounts, he amazes us each day and we are so proud of his achievements all of this thanks for the team at Cleve House. When you step inside Cleve you feel like you are part of a family, the class sizes are much smaller than our local state schools which means a far more focused and dedicated approach to the children aiding their learning in leaps and bounds, there are weekly swimming lessons which as working parents we would never have time to do, there is always someone at the end of the phone to talk too, they take the time to meet with you and discuss any subject needed. The wrap around care is our saviour, as working parents having an after school club/late stay until 530pm is a must, again something else our local schools were not able to offer. There is a misconception with Independent schools that they are expensive, we certainly had that view however it is a fraction of the fee of nursery and worth every single penny, our Son has learnt so much against his peer group outside of the school (friends/family of similar age) there is a huge difference in their learning, ability, manners, respect and confidence. The best decision we ever made was to send our Son to Cleve House.
