clothes for school trip

I'm after advice on what kind of clothes to get ds1 to take on his school trip in September. He normally wears uniform which suits him down to the ground as he has zero interest in fashion. He's very fussy about textures, seams etc and anything new has to sit in his wardrobe for several weeks before he'll actually wear it. He's just had a massive growth spurt so will need to get him new trousers, tops etc. As he's my eldest and as he just doesn't care, I have no idea what shops/labels etc are considered 'ok' by 10 year old boys - I want him to be able to fit in so don't want him standing out cos he's in the 'wrong' clothes (he has ASD and Tourette's so frankly he stands out enough anyway ) - oh and money's a bit tight at the moment so don't want to spend an absolute fortune

any advice please?

Where is he going and what will they be doing ? ds (9) is off on a long activity weekend in October but the school will send a list , the main item being the school tracksuit. Otherwise I'd suggest some mix and match basics like cotton tops , perhaps with long layered sleeves skater-style, some cargo trousers, jeans and cotton tracksuit bottoms, hooded top/fleece. Try H and M, Next or Gap in sale and brands like Quiksilver, Animal, Nike etc are also fine and often cheap in TK Maxx . hth

Thanks - they're going to northern Italy for the end of Sept/beginning of Oct for a week - they'll be doing a combination of sports stuff (mountain biking, sailing etc) and day trips to places like Verona

he won't wear any logos unless they really mean something i.e. he'll wear his swimming club hoodie cos that's got the club logo on it, but you can't ever seem to get anything plain in Next or H&M and he won't wear stuff like Quiksilver, Nike etc for the same reason

and he won't wear jeans (wrong texture) or tracksuit bottoms (unless he's doing sport)

so it won't be too embarrassing to be in a combination of Next trousers/Gap tops for example?

this place is quite good for no-logo basics (t-shirts, sweatshirts etc)

cargo pants (Gap) are a good bet

Debenhams Red Herring are good quality and reasonable with no logo on them.
