Girls only prep in Oxfordshire

MagicKeysToAsda · 07/06/2019 08:07

I am looking to move my DD to a girls only prep, and wondered if I am missing anywhere in my search. I obviously have OHS and Headington on my list - would love to know of any others please? Would consider edges of Oxfordshire into Bucks, so have half thought of Pipers Corner or Godstowe, but ideally would prefer closer.

Thanks very much for any advice.

The Manor

Depending on age, St Helen & St Katherine take them from 9. It is a selective school though.

Godstowe is the best. Pipers parents generally want Pipers senior. Godstowe preps for the very best senior schools and many go to boarding schools. Although some go to the grammar schools locally. In our day, quite a few came from 35-45 mins drive away. Pipers and Godstowe are very different schools.

The Manor is now co-ed. As far as I know the only girls-only junior schools are in Oxford but both have their own senior schools so aren’t really preps; I’m not aware of a single girls-only prep school in Oxfordshire (or at least Oxford and the the South, West and East of Oxford - don’t know about North Oxfordshire) any more - they’ve all gone co-ed in the last few years.

Thank you for all the info - good to know I'm not missing anything (although wish I was!).

I’ll give a plug for SHSK juniors too. It runs from age 9 but if you can get in you are spared 11+ and CE for the senior school. More importantly it is a lovely department. There is a big network of buses too.

There's Carrdus up in Banbury. I think about 50% of the girls there continue on to Tudor Hall.

Thank you, I'm looking into all the suggestions Smile
