Cranbrook school - advice

My son is in Yr5 and doing well, I know he'll suit a mixed school so my obvious choice is Cranbrook.
Would welcome any info re the school as keep on hearing very mixed stories.
Am nervous of Judd, just so old school 'Rugger' reputation ... am I right?

No recent experience at Cranbrook but know a few at Judd. I would say it suits a certain type of boy. He'd have to be both very academic and very willing to toe the line and do lots of and lots of homework. I think it would be less suited to a gifted student with their own ideas or a student who was more of an all rounder. They seemed to have a mix of characters from geeky to sporty there though. From what I know of Cranbrook it's slightly more easy going with more scope for creativity but my knowledge there is a little outdated.
