Pre school or Nursery??

DD has been at preschool for a yr. She went back last week and she did not seem to enjoy it(she only goes 3 days)alot of the bigger children have gone to full time school and new children have come in (younger) dd is three should i send her to nursery?? i have just turned down her place??plus what do they do??if anything different?

my dd is also at pre school (3 this week) and ahs been upset at older children going and has started saying that she doesn't like school anymore. I spoke to her teacher who said that this is quite normal they get upset as the older children who they look up to, and in turn mothered them, have moved up and they feel envious and a bit lost. They have aslo stopped being the babies and so perhaps don't get the same kind of attention as they used to, so feel a little envious of the mew children. Some of the new children will be crying and clingy and this affects all of the children, they also start crying and acting clingy.

Apparantly when i am gone my dd is fine, infact when i said to dd teacher that she didn't like school dd started laughing and saying she did really.

It may be that your dd will be happy again at preschool when evrything settles down whereas if you move her the settling process for her may be longer. A further thing to think about is whether your dd is going to go to the school that follows the preschool, it may be nice for her to stay with the same freinds through pre school and into primary rather than move her away from her friends now and again when she starts school.

I will admit to being biased as my dd goes to a fantastic pre school so couldn't imagine moving her.

I spoke to dd teachers and said the same as you said about the older children but what made me think is dd will not be moving with this group of children and so therefore i am thinking in Oct to place her in Nursery?? but additional prob is that we are thinking of moving and don't want to disrupt dd anymore than i have to.

I really feel like i am screwing up her education i know she is only three but it is so important.

The state nursery is good but arhh i am so confused i am at a loss
