So dd2 sat down on Saturday and read me a full book.............

it was only a Oxford reading tree one but she hasn't shown any inclination beofre and was reading some difficult words just by sounding them out! On Sunday she read to her dad and he said 'when did you learn to read like that' and her answer 'yesterday' [rolls eyes] and she won't stop now its fantastic!

really pleased for you! There'll be no stopping her now!

We've just had a breakthrough with dd2 nymphadora - she's 8 and has the ability to read well but just won't read anything challenging. However she has just picked up a Famous Five book and couldn't put it down - even reading in preference to the PS2 . So pleased for her - and for your dd2 as well
