Are you, or do you know, a school bursar?

If you are a bursar in an independent school, or if you know someone who is, please could you help me? I am considering applying for a job as a bursar. I have the right financial background but some of the other aspects would be new to me (or a stretch of my previous experience). I only know one person who has been a bursar. He didn't stick with it for long (2 years) and disliked it intensely, though that may have been specific to the school.
What would you say are the most important skills/attributes (other than financial)? And what is life like for a bursar in terms of day to day work?

Hi there. I'm not a bursar but I work with/have worked with bursars. Financial acumen and/or estates planning knowledge are very helpful. I can't answer your questions but have you seen this website as it might help you www.theisba.org.uk/becoming-a-bursar.aspx
