School Awards

I'm sure I'm not the first to write about this topic.
My dd has worked so hard this year and tried to come out of her shell. We are very proud of her.

Today the annual award letters are handed out at school and once again it's the same kids who have won. Not my kid once again.

While I'm pleased for those who will be getting one, I'm perplexed in a large High School that it's mainly the same confident loud kids and I wonder why?

Why can't they do something in Schools a bit more long sighted like bolster each person with praise on the good that they've done?

It feels like they keep reminding the same ones every year - 'you're the best' and don't really care how that must feel for the other students.

Just one award would be nice one day. Not that it's the end of the world but I think it would do my dd good when they see their friends celebrating every time!

So an update. Awards have happened this week and my some have received more than one award, pretty much the same people as last time.
One in particular is a child who has barged my dc several times but is all smiles for the teachers.

I will pass on my thoughts to the school but I don't want it to sound like sour grapes. I just wonder why the quieter ones don't get a look in.

But if you won't raise it then nothing will change
