Applying from abroad

We are relocating back to our local area in London next month. My DC would need school places first week of June, right after half term.

To get the ball rolling,I have already submitted two 'in year' appliances online for a Year 2 and a Year 5 place for the local schools in our area using our abroad address.

Many popular schools in our area have emailed me back to tell me they are full, some said they have vacancies in the years I need but they don't know if the places have already been allocated by our LA or not. Have emailed my LA asking about said schools but yet to receive a response.

My question is this; once we move back and I update my address to a Uk address local to our area, if I decline the Y2/Y5 school places offered for my DC now in the summer term, will I still be eligible to re-apply for a Year 3 and Year 6 for them in September 2019?? Or if I decline the Y2/Y5 places now, then the LA are not responsible for finding me Y3/Y6 places in September. TIA

You can apply in year at any point and can go on waiting lists but I doubt situation will change between your arrival and September. What will you do for summer term if you decline places.

Thanks @LIZS, I'm hoping there will be movement in the local schools of our area over the summer. Their school here abroad finishes late June anyhow so schools here are practically already 'done'. They have also offered to give me do work to do with my DC for the last 4 weeks in June.

And once we get a local address back home in the UK, I'm hoping too we might be bumped up the waiting list if we live by near to a local school?

So you are basically saying that if I wanted, I can still decline the places offered for the summer term, still get on the waiting lists, and then be eligible once again to reapply for the September term with my LA?
