Any thoughts on Clifton Lodge School - Ealing

Hi all,

We're looking for any thoughts on Clifton Lodge school in Ealing. I did see a few threads but they were quite old (circa 2012) and I know the school has changed since then.

Is the school worth it given the wealth of good schools we have in the area, like Fielding , little ealing etc.

Also any thoughts on their SEN support for children who need the extra help?

Thanks in advance

Having worked in the area in schools if you can get into a good state e.g. Fielding, Little Ealing or Christs then they are brilliant.

I would avoid small privates like Clifton Lodge as the uncertainties private schools are facing with changing to the teacher pension scheme etc mean those schools are going to be really struggling. If they stay open, I would be worried about their resources and how much of my fees actually go to enhancing my child's education beyond what they'd get in state (what you ultimately pay for in private I guess).

It is small so could be good for SEN, but again you'd have to look into their finances. Areas like SEN sadly could be what small schools try to cut. State are often a bit better for SEN unless it is an issue that you think a small class will really help.

Look at larger, more thriving/big name preps around Ealing like Durston House, NHEH and St Benedict's, or think about commuting towards West London for Kew Green or Ravenscourt Park Preps or Falcons?

thanks very much for the comments. One of the reasons we were looking at a smaller school is the smaller class sizes..

thanks again, food for thought!
