Business clothing

My year 10 daughter has work experience this summer and will need business clothes. She will need them for years 12&13 so they will get worn again.

She is only 5’2’’ so looking for something smart, but still ok for only 14 and reasonably fashionable.

Any suggestions of where to look or what to consider?

Matalan?

Matalan is good as @fireman suggests, peacocks can be reasonable as can new look and h&m, although I find them hit and miss sometimes.
I also tend get a lot of my work clothes from tesco and sainsburys, and they do last well.
Smart shirt dresses, pencil skirts and blouses. All reasonably priced, I'm 5'2" also and the lengths are pretty good.
Is she restricted in colour and pattern or can her choices be expected to be quite free, i.e. coloured tops with black skirts and jackets?

I would go for simple black dresses and then pop a jacket on top - you have a lot more flexibility then and are not having to buy jacket, blouse and skirt. Zara has some great stuff but not sure on sizing for shorter people?

Wait till you know where she's going on work experiencenot all work environments are business wear.

TheletterZ · 19/04/2019 09:30

Thank you all, she knows where she is going already and the introduction letter states business wear.

We have plenty of time to pick stuff up but I want to start looking a bit so that it isn’t panic buy close to the time.

H and M do mix and match skirts, trousers and jackets with a range of blouses and tops.

Sainsbury’s has a masssive sale on plus 25% off new season

Black trousers and a suitable top with at least short sleeves would be totally OK for a work experience person in business dress.
