Which Cobham Prep School to choose???

Hello there. We are agonising over which Prep School in Cobham to choose for our DS for Year 3 entry. We have narrowed it down to the two which we feel are the most nurturing: Feltonfleet and Parkside. But we just can't decide which one to choose and, whilst I feel I've read all the MN pages that even mention them (over and over again!), I can't find anything that recent. Any up to date views on either would be so appreciated, I'd be really grateful for your help!

Can you make the decision based on all boys v mixed or which is nearer for school run? Otherwise they are fairly similar. Are you looking to move your ds again at 11 or 13?
Feltonfleet has an intake at 11 due to the boarding element. Ie if your ds stayed until 13 more dc will join some of whom will weekly board (which shouldn't make a difference either way).

Have you sent your ds on a taster day to both to help decide?

Thanks Gingercat, as you say, both seem very similar. We're not too fussed on boys vs mixed (should we be?), and it's easy to get to both. Been to their tasters, and both left us positive.

We've been deliberating on a number of factors:

Academics - Which one would push our DS to his full potential, without being a hothouse?

Sport - Both seem sporty, although it seems Parkside is more successful at certain sports?

Pastoral - Both seem nurturing, but MN still has accounts of past bullying at Feltonfleet, do these still hold true?

Sorry I'm not a parent, you may be looking for a difference that isn't there. Maybe go on all boys v mixed.

Thanks Gingercat. Any current parents from either Parkside or Feltonfleet, your views would be greatly appreciated.

Friend with a DS about to leave FF and can't speak highly enough of it - particularly the new head who is very 'on it' especially with regards pastoral care.

Thanks Avebury, really helpful. Any up to date views from Parkside parents?

Ceshcob, can I ask what you decided in the end and are you happy with your choice? We are facing the same dilemma.
