Looking school admission process

can anyone please help me about , process of school admission in kutsford UK, when the school admission will start and what is the process to take admission for 8th grade . which school is good in kutsford, can i choose school by myself. we are moving to kutsford uk from other country .

I'd suggest you take a few hours and read all the threads on here! If you want advice you need to tell us the DOB of your child (not the exact date but month and year) and whether you are looking at state or private schools and when you will arrive in the UK.

What school ystem are you in atm?

8th grade in the states is different age group in some countries so it may be year 8 it may be year 7 or 9. Which s why we need montj and year of birth.

Do you mean Knutsford? How old is your child, 8th grade as in US system (which is year 9 in England) ? If so you are probably looking at an In Year application and may have limited choice of whichever school has a space. You need to contact the Local Authority when you have a confirmed residential address.

What MJ th and year was your child born, and when will you arrive?

Generally once you have arrived and have an address you apply to all the schools that you are interested in. Start with the Local Authority and they may say apply direct to the school depending on whether the LA or school handle in-year admissions. (In-year admissions are when you apply to join a school outside of the main admission years at the start of Yr 7 and sixth form. (Confusingly Yr 12).

School waiting lists are held in the order to which you meet the admissions criteria. so it is a good idea to move very close to a school that sounds good.

You could start by e mailing the schools admissions department at the LA and asking if any schools have places. It may be that in the area schools are not generally completely full, it varies round the country.

The LA does have an ohlifation to provide you with a school place though.

Maybe start a thread in secondary education with ‘Knutsford schools’ in the title to attract local knowledge?
