OU - Business Management (Marketing) - advice on F/T or P/T

Hi All,

Wondered if anyone here was doing the OU Business Management (Marketing) degree?

Planning to start in October but can't decide whether to go F/T or P/T.

I've heard that the first year is a bit easier and the 35-40 hours they say for full-time study is way above what it actually takes. Can anyone here shed some light?

Bit of info on my circumstances:

Self-employed, work from home, will basically be answering calls and booking appointments so plenty of flexibility to study whilst kids are at school. But will obviously have family commitments - housework, dinner to cook, kids home from 3:30pm etc.

Business also may get busier as time goes on but figured if I started out full time, could drop to part time if necessary.

Hubby keen for me to not overload myself and start out part-time, but I'm the sort that likes to get things done so would rather do full time (if it's realistic) and get the degree done, rather than dragging it out over 6 years. I'm 32 - not getting any younger!!

And whilst I don't want the qualification to take to an employer (I'm largely doing it to expand my knowledge on business practice) I'd also like it to fall back on should the business not take off - perhaps go on to do a 2 year PGCE afterwards - don't want to add an extra 3 years on unnecessarily.

Anyone on the above course can give some info on how many hours of study it's taking or taken you per week? For the first/second and or third year?

Thank you! =)
