Mount House School

It's decision time in our house - we have a not so great state option and we are holding an offer at Mount House School as an indy option.

Went to their Open Days and initially was impressed but I know things have changed. Anyone got any insight there? Worth paying fees to avoid the state system?

Do you mean Mount Kelly prep in Tavistock? It hasn't been Mount House for a while.

DH and DS both went, but it was a while ago (the dark ages in DH's case).

You don't have many alternatives locally. St Joseph's in Launceston? Only goes to GCSE though, but I know some who have liked it, and others who haven't.

The OP means Mount House in Hadley Wood I think (Herts).
The GCSE results are equal or a bit better than the local non-selective state schools. Hasn't it just gone mixed following a private equity acquisition?
