Just left my baby!!!!! First timer!!

hello all!
I've just left dd (aged 3.6), at nursery for the first time. She was great, i was having palpitations ,(and still am GOD i wish i still smoked!!!!!), and she rather dismissively waved bye bye!!!

Just thought i'd share that as i'm on my own now and a bit stir crazy already!! I pick her up at 1! Anyone else today?????????/

Hi - I haven't been on mumsnet for months and months but came on this morning with a very similar purpose to yours - I've just left my dd at school for the first time (well, yesterday, but today's no better!) and have come home mourning to an empty house. She is fine, running about the classroom putting away her things, changing her own shoes etc. etc! I remember the first time I left ds at a childminder - awful! I felt breathless and dazed for the two hours till I could go and get him back.
It will get better. Be kind to yourself in the meantime and be proud that you've given her such a good start that she was happy to go.
Hope you don't mind a stranger replying. Only two and a half hours to go now!

dd is going to nursery 4 days a week 9 till 4 next week and i so scared its unbelivable im starting collage and god nos how will i be able to study, we all worry but im sure ur dd will have a lovely time

Me too - just left my DS at school for the first time. He's my youngest and last child too - no more babies for me

He dived straight in and started playing with the other children without a backward glance. We stayed for 20 mins and chatted to the teacher who was lovely then left him to it.

TBH I'm a bit sad for us but so excited for him - he really is going to have a fantastic time there and has so much to learn and do. This is their chance to shine and to go out into the big world and start to leave their mark. SO I am very happy for him
