Hello, I am trying to prepare my daughter for selective exams. We are applying to several schools and they all want different things. I am trying to figure out the difference between CAT/pre-test/11+. I looked at examples and V.R./NVR/maths look pretty similar. It says on GL website that CAT measures inane ability and therefore is a better selective tool compared to 11+. But questions look like bond practice test to me, I honestly can’t see how they are superior? And if they are, what is the best way to prepare?

I think CATS tests are similar to the VR and NVR tests in the 11+. My ds scores improved after he started tutoring for the 11+. However, preparation for the 11+ varies widely across counties. Maybe have a look at the elevenplusexams forum for advice.
