Hello, my family are moving from London to Bournemouth over the summer and we are a bit baffled about the schooling for our little ones. our daughter, 6, has been lucky enough to get a place at a fantastic state infants school, where she would be for a year before moving to the primary. Problem is, the primary looks fairly abysmal from its oftsed report and i have spoken to locals who, under no circumstances, would send their children there. How can it be that the infants is so fantastic, and the primary so poor? Where do other children go for Year 3 up? Do we put our name on a church school waiting list, hope our name comes up at some stage, then move her again? Are there are any other intelligent, working mothers out there who do not have the time/inclination for endless emailing about coffee mornings and other trivia, but who would be interested in making new friends/contacts?
