Dear parents of NLCS,

May I seek some information on the music education in NLCS? Also, could you please provide some information on the design and technology department at NLCS.

We are looking at these facilities, especially at first school.

Turns out our DD is musically inclined and is learning the piano and violin. She is interested in art too.

We has visited the school.a couple of times but would seek your input.

Many thanks in advance.

Both excellent. More activities on offer than any child could possibly pack in.

So do they introduce instruments in reception? If not, then from which year.
And is there an option to take up individual music lessons from reception?

Horsemadmon,

Could you kindly elaborate on the music aspect. What happens in first and junior school in your experience.

TBH- It was my least musical child who went all through from 1st school. She did cello from yr 3 and bassoon from yr 6 but had no talent or love for either. Most girls played at least one instrument. I would suggest that either you can phone and ask or ask at Offer Holders Day. There are lots of videos on the school website and YouTube of concerts to give you a flavour.

Girls don't learn instruments at school in Reception or Year 1. They can take recorder or violin lessons after school beginning in Year 2.
