It’s a bit of a trend in state schools these days. Along with the ‘scholar’ walk.

It's something some schools do. If it works for them then I don't see the issue, though it seems to be the latest thing for people to get frothy over.

A few months ago it was the draconian expectations of expecting students to pay attention in class.

The scholar walk? Confused

I'm all for kids paying attention in class but not being able to talk in the corridors seems crazy to me.

I suppose it will be nice and quiet. Better for pupils who have sensory issues. I think people in general can focus better when their senses are not overloaded. But, I think it would put me off a school. I would think it is too strict and I do have sensory problems.

Is the scholar walk the thing where they have to carry their pencil case in their left hand so they can sit down and be ready to start work immediately?

Sounds like heaven to me. Must be bliss to walk from lesson to lesson without being shoved and pushed by horse playing teenagers while the deafening screeching and shouting resounds off the walls... where is this wonderful place?!
