Should I accept Hockerill Offer?

Hello,

My daughter has been offered an unconditional full boarding place for sixth form at Hockerill. I applied there because I work abroad and I wanted her to do the IB.

She has lived with my sister since year 7 and she is very happy to have her. However, next year my nephew is taking GSCEs so he will need a lot of her attention. My daughter loves living with her aunty and cousin.

She also cherishes her current school and friends. She goes to Bromley High School and she wants to stay there and do A levels in French, Geography, Maths and Art in lower sixth. She knows the value of the IB and if it was offered in her school she would choose it over A levels.

When we visited Hockerill we both agreed that the facilities were nothing close to what she is used to at BHS. However, the kids who showed us round did say the teachers at Hockerill are really good which to my mind is the most important.

Finally, she also has a 'meeting' with Tonbridge Grammar next week. From my research this school was the highest rated in terms of results and the facilities look similar to what she has at BHS. Attending Tonbridge would mean me changing my work pattern significantly (not impossible as I am self-employed) and setting up a home in Tonbridge for just 2 years.

Which option would you take?
Stay at BHS?
Accept Hockerill Offer?
Go for Tonbridge if we get it?

No insight, question or contribution too small.

Many thanks in advance Smile

Let her decide, there is a lot of self led work at higher study, she has to want to be there.
