Hi there!
My husband and I, along with our 2.5 year old and bun in the oven are seriously considering moving from Guildford town center to Godalming- quite close to Godalming College.

I’ve always heard (or had the idea) that the schools in this area are great but now that I’ve started researching there doesnt seem to be quite the case? Could you please ease my fears and explain best schools for 3year old/ 4-7/7-11/11+ . This move is meant to be the final one till kids move out type thing so need to make sure I’m making the right decision. State schools only please!:)

Busbridge infants and juniors and St Edmunds RC are closest primaries to Godalming College. Both excellent schools. Privately there’s St Hilary’s too.

You need to be careful with catchment areas.
The schools mentioned above are excellent and over subscribed

There are also great village schools around Godalming, Guildford and Haslemere area

Thank you for the insight! We ended up offering in Onlsow Village (guildford) so now my worry has moved from schools to nursuries as the two main ones only co reduced hours! (God know what working mummies do!) 😃🙄

Fitzsimmonds Place is fairly close and is excellent- and definitely does full time places. Onslow itself is a good infant school or St Nicholas’ is excellent and very popular. For secondary you are probably in catchment for County which is one if the best local secondaries and goes through the sixth form too. Good call!
