This is the sort of thing Xenia would post, but this really caught my eye,
esp. "This analysis shows that the school you attend at age 11 has a huge impact on your life chances, and particularly how likely you are to reach the top of your chosen profession".

I was also amazed by "Judges were also the most likely to have been privately educated, the research suggests. In 2007, 70% were from independent schools while in 1989 the figure was 74%".

I think that the law profession is always quoted as it really was the extreme. Most "top judges" started off as barristers, which due to the way that they train is only open to those who have some wealth or family support to start with. So all that is really telling you is that if you come from a family who will support you through your pupillage as a barrister then you are likely to have gone to private school. There is a specific barrier to entry in that profession which isn't present for a lot of professions.

lol.. I was privately educated and I am just a part time ICT technician. Hardly a world leader or a captain of industry. My little job fits in with school hours and holidays though so I have no child care costs.

I am happy though. I have a lovely husband and a beautiful son.

I read somewhere that most journalists were also privately educated.

I read soemwhere once that most western world leaders were over 6ft. WHo knew?
