Seaside schools

Hi everyone,
My husband and I are looking for a fresh start in a new town. We have two children who are primary school age. We currently live in London and want to live by the seaside. The problem is that the schools by the seaside all seem to be average at best. Does anyone know of a nice seaside town (train station not essential) which has excellent secondary schools? We would probably be looking for state schools only and ideally non selective in case our children did not get into a grammar. All ideas welcome. Thanks in advance.

There are grammars in Dorset. Regular secondarys are crap. Beautiful sand beaches.

How about Lyme Regis if you are ok with being quite a way out?

Woodroffe has a good reputation and Mrs Ethlestone's is very cute with decent results.

Lyme is lovely- it does get very busy in the summer, but that will be the same in most seaside areas.

Have you considered Leigh on sea?
45 mins on train to london. Excellent primary schools, 4 grammar schools and some great comprehensive. Beach living with woods nearby and great for families and children. Voted happiest place to live!
