Just wondering when I will get the letter to prove this? My dd is 3 In feb and I want to apply for a nursery place but I need this letter to show them. Anyone with an almost 3 year old already received it?

Do you mean the extra 15 hours to make it up to 30 or just the 15 that all 3 year olds are entitled to? I didn't need a letter for just the 15 hours

MyDcAreMarvel · 15/12/2018 19:50

There is no letter.

There isn't a letter - the nursery will be able to apply from April for it. You'll just need to sign a form they'll provide

Oh I remember with my eldest we got a letter from the council which I had to show to my chosen nursery. That is just for the standard 15 hours

I didn't get any letter for 3YO's free childcare. You have to apply for the free hours online and then you can sign up for nursery you want. Then tell the nursery and they will claim the hours online.

You won't get the free hours until the term after your child is 3, so if their birthday is February, it will be after Easter. Sorry.

Ok thanks everyone.

I had to fill in an application form and use that along with the birth certificate. There was no letter. What did your letter say?

Santababyclaus · 15/12/2018 19:54

I didn't receive a letter. My dd started nursery in Sept, the nursery gave me a form to complete on the first day which was returned to them.

dementedpixie · 15/12/2018 19:55

I didn't apply for hours online either. I applied to the nursery and they sorted everything and I assume applied for the funding

cate16 · 15/12/2018 19:57

You'll just need to show proof of age when signing up.

You should get funding from Easter (summer term) but check with the provider. (ours is starting a week early this year due to a very late Easter) If you qualify for the extended funding, I think you can start your claim and get a reference number after 1st Jan, but again it will come into effect at Easter.

All 3yo have 15hrs the term after their third birthday. The nursery just need see the birth certificates as proof of age. Different councils may work differently but ours doesn’t send out letters.

For 30hrs there are certain conditions attached so parents need to apply online for an eligibility code.

I didn’t get a letter for any of mine?
