Moving to Thames Ditton / Hinchley Wood

Hi All

Hope everyone is doing well.

First ever post on here but not really looked at Mumsnet until the other week and realise what a great forum it is.

Anyway wanted to get peoples opinions of Thames Ditton and Hinchley Wood. We currently live in Teddington but we have out grown our house and desperately need something bigger (2 year old twins and five year old!)

We are thinking about leaving the area as sadly the jump up in size we need is out of our price range. It seems that houses in TD/HW have a lot more space/land for similar prices.

Our girls will start school in 2020 so wanted to be sorted for then. Anyone currently or have lived there and have any thought on what it’s like as family place? Also and most importantly what are the schools like. Primary schools seems like Thames Ditton and Hinchley Wood are good but any first hand experiences would be amazing. Also as we want this to be a 15-20 year house what is Hinchley Wood secondary like? Again seems ok but no real sense if it’s good school and nice family’s go etc. Current school we are at lacks friendly families..

Appreciate we of course have to try and get in these schools which is never easy with catchment etc. Our eldest would be coming in year 3/4 also so probably even harder. Anyway if anyone out there has any helpful insight into the area and these schools it would be much appreciated.

Thanks so much x

Good area, good schools, both the primaries you name and HW secondary have good reputations. Go for it!
