Hi
I know that from 3 parents get grants for their kids to go to nursery - is this right? I have no idea how much this is or how you get it - does anybody know or can you point me in the right direction?
Thanks

The eligible age seems to vary acording to where you live but here we get them from the term after the child's 3rd birthday. The grant is for 5 2.5hr sessions per week. The nursery/pre-school gives you a short form to fill in on "headcount day" if your child is eligible. Headcount day is just the specified day when the nursery counts how many children they have who are eligible for funding. If the relevant birthday falls after headcount day you will have to wait for the next term's headcount day to be eligible. Hope that makes sense! Basically you just need to ask your nursery/pre-school what the age policy is for your area. In some places the scheme doesn't start until they are 4yrs old but I think this is being phased out.
