Hi my son's school does not set homework. Please could anyone advise of the best maths work books I could buy for us to work through at home as he is getting anxious about maths lessons. He is in Year 4. Many thanks!

Schofield and Simms books or the CGP books are great

We love the CGP one!

The "best" maths books are the Beast Academy books by the Art of Problem Solving. It not national curriculum and is not just a bunch of worksheets, but it really does teach maths as opposed to focusing on arithmetic.

You could look at the Letts Mythical Maths series.

Also, for tables, I used to do one sum a day for dd and ask it several times throughout the day.
