Hi all
Looking to send both my children here possibly....Our son has adhd(medicated) and some sensory issues so my question is does anyone have any info with regards school being set up to manage these individual needs?

Thanks in advance..

Hi - I know Claremont is known to have a caring culture. But I would also look at Boxshill, Parkside and Kingswood in Epsom. I hope this is handy - go take a look. Best of luck

Thanks Tinkobell
Were in Sussex so looking outside the county but our son would have to board.I do like the look of Bexhill though and if they have the same ethical approach like Gordonston then its going in the right direction! Were hoping to visit Claremont after this half term.We are thinking of moving him next year or at age 13 but we feel the last two years at his present school could be too much for him(they feed Kings and Eton) so don't want him under any undue pressure! Thanks again for the info.

Bedes in East Sussex has amazing special needs support. Very supportive place where my DC with dyslexia thrived.

Claremont is not boarding.
It is too far to travel from Sussex every day

Thanks all
We were thinking Bedes ABitOTT but are they set up for ADHD and SPD? i would be very interested to hear your thoughts. Our son is high functioning and medicated for his ADHD but his sensory needs need to be taken into account x chickydoo I'm not sure which Claremont your thinking but the one in Bodium is boarding.

Thanks all

Hi OP, I think there may be confusion between Claremont Fan Court (Surrey) and Claremont (East Sussex). I see that you are referring to the East Sussex one.

How old are your children? The Prep (in Hastings/St Leonards) goes up to Year 8 and boarders are welcome from Year 7 upwards. The senior school is in Bodiam, goes up to Year 13, and also has boarders. I think I’m correct that the vast majority of boarders at both school sites are pupils from abroad. Most pupils are day pupils.

The Prep has a superb special needs department which would look after your son well, however there is a lot of discipline in the school from around Year 3 upwards - possibly more than young children might really need. I don’t know how well this would match with your son’s ASD.

Claremont has very recently changed ownership.

I gather that Bede’s is very good for SEN and is definitely worth a look.

Hi Katkin
Our son is 10 and were thinking of moving at age 11 as the last two years at his present school may be too much for him(his prep school feed to Eton and the like) Im hoping Claremont will be a good match for our sons needs x Its all so scary isn't it? Im feeling exhausted just doing some research!

Thanks again
