Our appeal to SEND Tribunal has been adjourned so that the LA can cost the provision that they propose. They propose that Y11 dd is placed in a special school but because she is academically able and the school caters for children with MLD and SLD they will bring in tutors to teach dd 1 to 1 so that her academic needs will be met. They propose tutors for GCSE Maths ,English, Science, French and Art and dd would be tutored each day until lunchtime.
Obviously as a parent I'm concerned about how isolated she will be but can teachers give me some insight into the difficulties a school would face outsourcing the education bit I won't mention that they suggest importing a peer group in the afternoon from a mainstream school that shares their site

You might also want to post this in the tutoring section. I’m sure they can help you find a decent local tutoring company or consider all other options.

Many teachers do tutor on the sidelines so to speak. My best friend who works in a local primary school also decided to provide some tuition at the weekends for extra money. I also recommend having a chat with the teacher.

Hopefully they’ll answer your questions. Or you could always ask other parents for recommendations for tutors. I’ve heard good things about tutorful.
