Hello everyone. I have been in my current job for 20 years and am applying for a new one. The application form asks for exam subjects and results and I honestly cannot remember what mine were or how many subjects I took!
In 1985 how many exams did you have to take? English, Maths and one Science is all I remember - so embarrassed!

That very much depends on your school-some sat loads more than others!

Maths, English, all or some sciences? Did you do a language? Humanity? Art?

You’ll probably need your grades as well though. I applied for a new job recently and despite having a degree and several post grad qualifications, I still had to put my GCSEs grades on the application.

If you can’t find your certificates, try contacting the school?

In 1987 I took English language and English literature separately if that helps? Also 1 science, 2 creative, 1 modern foreign language, 2 humanities, RE. I think that roughly standard number though they went down with the start of GCSEs the following year. Hope that helps jolt some thoughts for you.

BayTrees · 23/09/2018 09:40

Just realised I assumed these were o levels from the number. Please ignore if they were a levels!

TheThirdOfHerName · 23/09/2018 09:41

This is what I took:

1988: Maths
1989: English language, English literature, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, French, Latin, Computer Studies.

Many of my friends took History or Geography.

If you have any of your old school reports from 4th or 5th year secondary, it should list your subjects.

LIZS · 23/09/2018 09:42

I did 10 - 2 English, Maths, One Science, one language, one humanity...

Holidayshopping · 23/09/2018 09:58

Are you talking about GCSEs or A levels?

clary · 23/09/2018 22:42

I did o levels in 1980 - maths, eng lit and Lang, history, German, French, biology, chemistry, Latin, Greek. Also could have done art, physics, cookery, textiles, erm that's it really at my girls' school!

A levels in 1982 - German, French, Greek. Assume you would remember your a level tho?

Grin I don't think the future employers want an average of other MNers exams.... I think you are going to have to find your own certificates!

LoniceraJaponica · 23/09/2018 23:17

Do you know where your certificates are?

senua · 24/09/2018 08:52

Ask your Mum?

LoniceraJaponica · 24/09/2018 08:56

I must be very sad. I took my O levels in 1975 and can remember exactly what I took and what gardes I got. I must get out more.
